Reports that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie, Bairavaa, have been sold to Sri Green Productions have now been confirmed by the film-makers.
Speaking to the International Business Times, India, a representative of Sri Green Productions said, "Yes, we have signed the deal and acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of Bairavaa. We are happy to get associated with the film."
The news has also been formally announced by Sri Green Productions, which has produced Vijay Sethupathi's latest film, Aandavan Kattalai, on their Facebook page. It wrote, "#Bairavaa TN Theatrical rights have been bagged by our Sri Green Productions today."
The film is said to have been sold for a good price. Both the parties have signed the deal after a lot of negotiation. The last two films of Ilayathalapathy Vijay — Puli and Theri — were sold for Rs 40 and 49 crore, respectively.
It is believed that the latest film has been sold for a higher price than Vijay's previous films. However, the exact price paid for the rights has not been revealed yet.
Meanwhile, the shooting is progressing at a brisk pace, and the final talkie portions are being shot in Hyderabad. The team will head to foreign locations next week to shoot a few songs.
Bairavaa, which was launched on April 11, is written and directed by Bharathan, who is collaborating with Vijay for the second time, after Azhagiya Tamil Magan. Keerthy Suresh plays Ilayathalapathy's love interest in the film, which also stars Aparna Vinod, Jagapathi Babu and others.
