A Muslim organisation in Tamil Nadu has issued fatwa (ruling) against yoga guru Ramdev's Patanjali products, said reports.
The ruling was reportedly issued on the ground that the Patanjali products contain cow urine, which is considered haram in Islam.
Islamic outfit Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamat (TNTJ) said the yoga guru's Patanjali food products, medicines and cosmetics have cow urine as a key ingredient.
"According to the beliefs of Muslims, cow urine is haram and should not be used (in food products). Therefore, the TNTJ issues a fatwa that products of Patanjali are haram," said the outfit in a release.
The religious ruling was issued in order to spread awareness among Muslims about the ingredients of such products, PTI reported.
