The audio launch of Suriya's "Sikander", the Telugu dubbed version of Tamil film "Anjaan", is all set to take place in Hyderabad at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad on 31 July. Telugu stars Akkineni Nagarjuna and Allu Arjun will be launching the film's audio, reported Times of India.
The music release of Tamil version "Anjaan" was held on 22 July at Chennai. Earlier, the film's team had planned for a big audio launch function in the presence of Kamal Haasan. But, later the audio launch function was cancelled and the team just showcased the audio of two songs with lyrics – "Oru Kan Jaadai" and "Siripu En Speciality" to media, trade circles and some fans. They also held a visual premiere of two other songs – "Bang Bang Bang" and "Ek Do Theen Chaar."
There are five tracks composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The album has topped the iTunes India charts and has also been receiving great feedback from the critics and fans. It remains to be seen if the Telugu version of the songs will impress the fans.
Directed by Lingusamy "Sikander" is touted to be an action-packed entertainer with all the commercial elements. Suriya will be appearing in a dual role in the film – one of that of a gangster while the other one will have a limp.
The film has Samantha as the female lead and this is the first time that the actress has teamed up with Suriya and Lingusamy. Comedian Soori, Vidyut Jamwal, Dalip Tahil, Manoj Bajpai and Rajpal Yadav are also part of the film's cast.
The cinematography is handled by Santhosh Sivan, and the action entertainer is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Thirrupathi Brothers.
Lagadapati Sridhar has reportedly acquired the theatrical rights of "Sikander." The film is all set to release on 15 August along with the Tamil version. Suriya has huge market in Andhra Pradesh and some of the actor's Telugu dubbed films have done well at the box office.
The film is expected to clash with Jr NTR's "Rabhasa" which might release on 14 August. However, a Deccan Chronicle report stated that the makers of "Rabhasa" are planning to release the film on 21 August. If it turns out to be true, then clash between "Sikander" and "Rabhasa" could be averted.
An official announcement on exact release date is yet to be made by the makers of "Rabhasa."
