Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer "Sultan" has finally crossed the Rs. 300 crore mark at the domestic box office with its nett income. "Sultan" is now the third Bollywood film to enter the Rs. 300 crore club.
Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial, which is the second most profitable film, took five weeks to take its domestic earnings to Rs. 300 crore. The film earned Rs. 300.06 crore nett (Rs.420.84 crore gross) in its 35-day domestic box office run.
"#Sultan crosses ₹ 300 cr... [Week 5] Fri 24 lacs, Sat 49 lacs, Sun 78 lacs, Mon 16 lacs, Tue 16 lacs. Total: ₹ 300.06 cr. India biz. ATBB," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Now Salman and Anushka are the only actors in Bollywood with two Rs. 300 crore earners at the box office. Apart from "Sultan," Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and Anushka's "PK" are the two Rs. 300 crore grosser films. "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is the second grosser with a collection of over Rs. 320 crore, while "PK" is the biggest grosser with a collection of over Rs. 340 crore.
Ali joins the Rs. 300 crore league with "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" director Kabir Khan and "PK" director Rajkumar Hirani.
Meanwhile, Anushka took to Instagram to thank her fans for making "Sultan" a big success at the box office. "Thank you guys for all the love for #Sultan. 300cr #Blessed," Anushka posted on Instagram.
Directed by Ali, "Sultan" features Salman and Anushka as wrestlers. Randeep Hooda as Salman's coach, Kumud Mishra as Anushka's father, Amit Sadh as Pro Takedown founder and Anant Sharma as Sultan's (Salman) best friend.
