Belamkonda Sai Sreenivas' "Speedunnodu" has made almost equal pre-release business as "Soggade Chinni Nayana," but it will be released in more number of screens than the Nagarjuna starrer.
Sai Sreenivas, the son of producer Belamkonda Suresh, made his debut with VV Vinayak's "Alludu Seenu," which was made with a whopping budget of over Rs 35 crore. The hype and promotion helped its distributors recover their investments, but the movie incurred losses to its producers.
The young actor is returning with his second movie titled "Speedunnodu," which has got good hype and promotions. The movie has reportedly earned Rs 18 crore from the sale of its worldwide theatrical rights. This amount is close to the price fetched by "Soggade Chinni Nayana" -- Rs 18.50 crore.
With "Speedunnodu" set to hit screens this Friday, its distributors have already booked a large number of theatres across the globe. The film will be released in 250 screens in Andhra Pradesh, 300 screens in Telangana, 190 theatres in other parts of India and 50 cinema halls in the international markets.
"Speedunnodu" will be released in a total of 790 screens across the globe on 5 February, according to a report. It is relatively a bigger screen count for a young actor like Sai Sreenivas. The movies of Nikhil Siddharth, Sundeep Kishan and Sudeer Babu, who are more popular than him, will be released in less than 700 screens. In fact, Nagarjuna's last release "Soggade Chinni Nayana" was released in less than 700 screens.
Now, fans need to wait to find out whether "Speedunnodu" will be able to beat the records of "Soggade Chinni Nayana" or not. Despite clashing with "Nannaku Preamtho," "Dictator" and "Express Raja," the Nagarjuna starrer has got superb opening and made decent business in the following days. The film has grossed Rs 65 crore at the worldwide box office in three weeks and earned Rs 40 crore to its distributors.
Sai Sreenivas' debut film "Alludu Seenu" was also released in over 750 screens around the world and it has collected Rs 40 crore gross at the global box office. The movie has earned Rs 24.55 crore for its distributors in its lifetime, according to Andhra Box Office. "Speedunnodu" is likely to break its records. But it needs to be seen whether it will smash any record of "Soggade Chinni Nayana" or not.
