Early this month, Sony launched a selfie-centric Xperia C5 Ultra, and now the company has released another camera-oriented smartphone dubbed as Xperia M5 in India.

The new Xperia M5 comes with top-notch camera hardware. It houses a feature-rich 21.5mp camera with Sony's new proprietary IMX230 CMOS sensor, which enables users to get 5x zoom with no perceptible loss in quality. It also features hybrid autofocus, f/2.2 aperture and fast autofocus (0.2 seconds), and 4K video recording capability. On the front, it comes packed with a 13mp snapper with auto-focus.

It also boasts IP65/IP68 water-and-dust proof certifications, which mean the users can use the phone for up to 1 meter (3 feet) underwater for close to 30 minutes.

Other stipulated features include 5.0-inch full HD display, 2.0GHZ MediaTek Helio X10 processor, IMG Rogue G6200, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 2600 mAh battery, which is capable of running the phone for close to two days.

Sony Xperia M5 India Price and Availability Details:

The company has confirmed that the new Xperia M5 costs Rs. 37,990, and will be available across India starting Wednesday (9 September) in black and gold coloured variants.

Competition:

Sony Xperia M5 will be up against the popular OnePlus 2, Samsung's metal-clad Galaxy A8, Oppo R7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S6 series and among others.
