Skullcandy has added a new pair of wireless headphones to its line-up by integrating Bluetooth functionality into one of its best-selling wired headphones. Skullcandy Grind Wireless is a reminiscent of the wired model, with similar design and audio performance.
Skullcandy announced the new headphones on Tuesday and said the Grind Wireless will be available exclusively in TATA Croma stores at a competitive price of Rs. 6,499. The headphones are also listed on Brandeyes online store, where products from other brands such as Jawbone, Philips and Withings are also listed.
"Our wireless product innovations were well-received in 2015. Grind Wireless will continue our mission to launch headphone in style that change consumers' expectations of Bluetooth product's aesthetics and acoustic performance," Amlan Bhattacharjya, founder and CEO of Brandeyes Distributors, said in a statement.
In terms of specifications and design, Skullcandy's Grind Wireless replicates the original Grind headphones design and technology. The new headphones feature an integrated amplifier component for a higher power rating, dynamic range and lower distraction.
SkullCandy Grind Wireless offers great comfort with its plush on-ear cushions and lightweight metal headband. The microphone, call track and volume controls are seamlessly integrated in the right cup of the headphones. The company said that the Grind Wireless headphones can last up to 12 hours on a single charge.
There are plenty of choices in the wireless headphones department. LeEco recently launched their LeMe wireless headphones in India for Rs. 2,499 and offers elegant design and a decent performance. Skyllcandy's headphones are priced more than double, but the sound quality is likely to differ.
