Actress Shruti Haasan, who is one of the most sought-after actresses down south, has opted out of Nagarjuna and Karthi's bilingual movie, which is simultaneously being made in Telugu and Tamil.
Shruti Haasan has four Bollywood projects, "Yaara", "Welcome Back Film", "Gabbar Is Back" and "Rocky Handsome". Besides, she is also doing Vijay's Tamil flick "Puli" and Mahesh Babu's untitled film.
Of the four Hindi movies, she has already wrapped some of them and waiting for their release. She is currently busy with other projects.
It was recently reported that Shruti Haasan had signed to play one of the two female lead in the bilingual movie featuring Nagarjuna and Karthi in the leads. Now, sources close to the production team claim that she has recently informed the producers about quitting the project.
Reports suggest that she opted out of the film as she wants to focus on her other projects. "With four films in her kitty, it had become difficult for Shruti to adjust her dates. She is presently shooting for films featuring Vijay and Mahesh Babu. Even a slight change in the schedule for one film is bound to have an impact on her other films," The Times of India quoted a source as saying.
The actress will be next seen playing Akshay Kumar's love interest in "Gabbar Is Back", which is scheduled to be released in theatres on 1 May. She is all set to kick-start its promotion soon. "Shruti is committed to promoting her upcoming Hindi film Gabbar Is Back over the next few weeks as well. So she decided to opt out," the source added.
Shruti Haasan has worked with many superstars down south, but has not been seen with Nagrajuna and Karthi in any film.
She was cast opposite Karthi in director Vamsi Paidipally's forthcoming film, which will be a remake of the French film "The Intouchables". But she has missed out this opportunity. The makers have begun the hunt for a suitable actress to replace her.
