Allu Arjun and Upendra starrer "S/o Satyamurthy" has lived up to traders' expectations in Bengaluru and Tamil Nadu. The Telugu movie has performed well at the box office in two days in both the places.
"S/o Satyamurthy" has raked in more than ₹2.9 crore in Bengaluru in two days, which is the highest for an Allu Arjun movie in the Garden City. The movie registered 80% occupancy on an average on the released day and had close to 175 shows on the first day.
On the second day, the number of shows came down to 132 due to the release of Kannada biggie "Rana Vikrama" starring Puneet Rajkumar. Nonetheless, the Telugu movie enjoyed a good occupancy on second day in Bengaluru. The Upendra factor in the film helped the movie do good business in the city as he is a star in Karnataka.
In total, the movie earned ₹4.35 crore from entire Karnataka on the release day and it has made approximately ₹7.2 crore in two days from this region. The official figure for the second day is yet to be revealed by the makers.
Whereas in Tamil Nadu, "S/o Satyamurthy" opened well and managed to pull good number of audience to theatres. The Telugu movie has been mainly liked by family audience. Confirming the news, leading trade tracker Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, "#SonOfSatyaMurthy takes a fabulous opening in TN. Film being liked by family audiences. "
The total amount made by "S/o Satyamurthy" on the first day is ₹20.50 crore. From Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region, it collected ₹11.89 crore, from international circuits it made ₹3.75 crore and about ₹60 lakh in other parts of India.
"S/o Satyamurthy" is directed by Trivikram Srinivas and features ensemble cast of Upendra, Sneha, Samantha, Nithya Menen, Adah Sharma, MS Narayana, Prakash Raj and others.
