Amidst celebrations of "Rowdy Rathore's" success, that has just entered twelfth day of its release with a sprawling box office collection, another big announcement from the film's director Prabhu Deva is on its way.
According to grapevine from reportedly trustable sources in the industry, the director may announce a prequel to the superhit film in the coming weeks.
Looking at the sky-rocketing box office collection and viewer's response, Prabhu Deva has decided to make Part 2 of the blockbuster film.
An unnamed source revealed to a national daily that the official announcement of the prequel is expected to be made at the success party of the film on June 15.
"The party is being held this Friday and the prequel will most probably be announced there," the source told DNA.
Well, according to the report, the name of the film has also been decided.
The title of the film would be "Rowdy Rathore Returns," according to Daily Bhaskar.
The film, starring Bollywood's Khiladi Kumar Akshay and Sonakshi Sinha, has already crossed over Rs. 1 billion (Rs 100 crores) at the box office by the end of the second weekend.
Though "Rowdy Rathore" is his biggest solo opening of the year, 2012 has been fantastic for the 44-year-old actor whose first film of the year "Housefull 2" also grossed around Rs.1.12 billion (INR 112.88 crore) in India.
The ecstatic actor tweeted, "I owe a HUGE thank you to my audience! You are the only reason behind the biggest opening weekend of my career! Love Rowdy."
It is the third and the latest film, only after "Agneepath," "Housefull 2," to have crossed Rs. 1 billion (INR 100 crore) box office collections in 2012.
"#RowdyRathore collected Rs. 22 cr nett in Wknd 2, taking the total to Rs. 101.5 cr nett. Breakup:- Fri 5.1 cr, Sat 6.4 cr, Sun 10.5 cr +," a trade expert has tweeted.
"#RowdyRathore has crossed Rs. 100 cr nett mark at the end of Weekend 2. Has performed exceptionally well at single screens as well as plexes," he wrote.
