The teaser of the upcoming Malayalam film "Njan" starring Dulquer Salmaan released on 12 June. The film is directed by well acclaimed film maker Renjith. "Njan" has three heroines in the lead, played by Jyothi Krishna, Anumol and new comer Shruthi Ramachandran.
"Njan" is based on a historical fiction "K T N Katoor: Ezhuthum Jeevithavum," by T.P Rajeevan. Renjith's earlier movie "Paleri Manikyam : Oru Pathira Kolpathakathinte Kadha" was also based on Rajeevan's novel and Mammootty played the lead role in it.
Renjith has done the script the period film "Njan" based on Malabar region when it was under Madras Presidency. Dulquer plays the character of a journalist and Jyothi Krishna plays as his wife in the movie.
"Renjiettan's 'Njaan' my most challenging film yet!", tweeted Dulquer about the movie. Expectations are high for this Dulquer movie, especially after the success of "Bangalore Days." He has also wrapped up Lal Jose's movie "Vikramadithayan," co-starring Unni Mukundan and Namitha Pramod.
There were rumors about Renjith's next flick to be starred by Mohanlal and Manju Warrier. When audience was eagerly waiting for another hit like "Aram Thampuran", "Kanmadam" and "Summer in Bethlehem," the news of his plans of dropping the film came out and the director later revealed that he couldn't come up with a good script that complimented his big star cast.
As the last schedule of "Njan" is underway, not much is revealed about this film like any other Renjith film. The switch on function of the film was done on 10 March by M.P. Veerendrakumar. The film also has a rich star casts including Suresh Krishna, Saadhiq, Irshad, Harish Perady, Jayan Cherthala, Kuttikal Jayachandran, Saiju Kurup, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Sasi Erinjikkal, Muthumani and Chinju.
"Njan" is produced under the banner of Gold Coin Motion Pictures. The cinematography is done by Manoj Pillai, who associated with Renjith in films like "Kaiyoppu", "Kerala Café" and "Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Kadha".
"Njan" is expected to release in the month of July.
