Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan has found similarities in the posters of his film "Madaari" and Tamil movie "Kabali" and accused the Rajinikanth's movie team of stealing the poster from their Hindi flick.
"We are small filmmakers, I saw that Rajinikanthji's film stole the poster of our film. You see his film's poster and see our film's poster. No big deal about it. Watch his film and watch our film, too," IANS quoted the actor as saying in a press meet.
However, this is said to be a fan-made poster and not the official poster of "Kabali."
"Madari" is a social-thriller movie, written and directed by Nishikanth Kamat. Irrfan Khan, Vishesh Bansal, Jimmy Shergill, Nitesh Pandey and others are in the cast. The movie is likely to clash with "Kabali" on July 15.
'Kabali' Getting Ready for Massive Release
On the other hand, the makers of "Kabali" are preparing for a grand release on July 15. The movie is likely to be released in four languages – Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malai.
The distribution rights of almost all the regions have already been sold to different parties. The makers are expected to have earned above Rs. 200 crore from the sale of theatrical and other rights of the multilingual movie.
"Kabali" is a gangster flick, which is written and directed by Pa Ranjith. Rajinikanth plays the role of an ageing don who runs a school for the children affected by gang wars in the film, which is bankrolled by Kalaippuli S Thanu. Dhansika, Dinesh Ravi, Kalaiyarasan, Kishore Kumar and others are part of the cast.
