Rajinikanth's "Endhiran 2" will be much bigger than its first instalment in terms of quality.
The latest buzz says that "Endhiran 2" will be a complete 3D film. The first instalment was a 2D movie, which was converted into 3D, but the forthcoming movie will be shot completely shot in 3D using world-class equipments that are currently used in Hollywood.
Nirav Shah, who has been signed to handle the cinematography, has already started working on the project as he has gone to the US to plan the 3D portions.
Meanwhile, Shankar has roped in two-time Oscar Award winning music director AR Rahman and Muthuraj to handle music and art departments.
Shankar is also busy finalising the cast. It was recently reported that Deepika Padukone had been approached to play the female lead. Now it turns out that the actress is unlikely to take up the project and the hunt for the leading lady is on.
The filmmaker is reportedly in talks with a few big names of Bollywood, but nothing has been confirmed yet. There are also reports that Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was the special guest at the audio launch function of Shankar's "I", is playing a key role in the flick.
Shankar is expected to complete the pre-production works by next month and the movie is most likely to be launched on Rajinikanth's birthday on 12 December.
The upcoming movie is a sequel to blockbuster "Endhiran", which was released in 2010. The movie, which is reportedly bankrolled by Lyca Productions, starred Rajinikanth in dual roles and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the female lead role.
