Ajith Kumar, who is getting ready to start his next movie with Siruthai Siva in May, is getting flooded with offers. The latest to come his way is a project from senior director P Vasu, who plans to remake his Kannada blockbuster "Shivalinga" in Tamil.
The director had approached his favourite actor, Rajinikanth, to step into the shoes of Shivaraj Kumar in the Kollywood version. But as the superstar is busy with his mega-budget movie "2.0," he could not take up the film. He then referred Ajith to the director, says The News Minute.
However, it is not known whether Ajith is willing to star in the Kannada remake as he has already signed a few other films. The actor will soon start his next film with Siruthai Siva. He has also given a nod to a historical film by Vishnuvardhan, and a mass entertainer to be directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. These three films will keep him busy for the next two years, and may not leave Ajith with enough time to do justice to the project.
"Shivalinga" tells the story of a CID officer, played by Shivanna, who tries to unravel a murder mystery. The hero's work and personal life get embroiled in the case, leading to interesting developments in the story. Vedhika aka Vedhicka played the female lead in the film.
Ajith's Next to Begin on his Birthday
Ajith's next film, which is presently being called "Thala 57," will hit the floors on May 1 to coincide with his birthday. The regular shooting will begin in June. It is a city-centric film, which will be majorly shot in Australia. Sathya Jyothi Films will finance the movie.
