Akshay Kumar is known to be a gentleman, with a firm grip on his temper. But during the shoot of "Comedy Nights Bachao," he lost his cool and pushed one of the stand-up comics hard after he took inappropriate digs at "Housefull 3" leading ladies Lisa Haydon and Jacqueline Fernandez.
The show started off well but soon the jokes became too derogatory to take. Akshay and Riteish Deshmukh had gotten too uncomfortable and what flipped them was comedian Siddharth Jadhav addressing Lisa as a "black African" and as someone who looks like a Kangaroo from Australia.
In a fit of rage, Akshay pushed Siddharth, which landed him on the edge of the set. "But when it went out of hand, he couldn't control himself. He was upset that the comedians were aware that Lisa wasn't too well versed in Hindi and wouldn't even understand the few lines that the guys uttered. So, he thought it was all the more unfair that one would make fun of a person who didn't even know the language well," a unit member explained the scene to Mid-Day.
What's strange is Siddharth's social media account doesn't look anything went wrong on the sets. He shared photos from the episode and also called Riteish a superstar.
However, this isn't the first time that an actress has been attacked for not having a strong command over Hindi. Katrina Kaif, while promoting "Jab Tak Hai Jaan," was told by a reporter: "You are from Bollywood not Hollywood." Shah Rukh Khan came to her rescue, sternly asking the journalist not to question her on the language she speaks.
"She speaks Hindi also. There is no questioning on the language that she speaks. I request you not to do that...don't get confused with what language the actor speaks in. Whatever they are comfortable in, they have right to do so," IANS quoted him as saying.
"Housefull 3" opens in theatres on June 3.
