Guindy police have detained four people believed to have hurled crude bombs at the TV channel, Puthiya Thalaimurai's office in Chennai on Thursday.
The suspects, arrested on Thursday, reportedly belong to the fringe outfit, Hindu Ilaignar Sena, in Chennai, The Hindu reported. Earlier, a worker of the same outfit claimed the responsibility of the attack on the channel.
The incident was recorded on CCTV camera, which helped the police to identify the suspects. Police have also taken two motorcycles into custody, which were reportedly used by the attackers.
On Thursday morning, four people hurled crude bombs at the office of Puthiya Thalaimurai news channel in Chennai. The incident took place at 3am on Thursday and a few employees and security guards were on night shift.
The reason behind the attack is not known yet, but it is believed that the broadcasting of the controversial show "Thali" irked the attackers. "Thali" showed panelists debating on the importance of wearing "mangal sutra".
