Vijay's "Puli" has performed badly in its third weekend at the overseas centres. The future does not seem to be good for the flick as big films like "10 Enradhukulla" and "Naanum Rowdy Thaan" are releasing this week.
"Puli" had earned Rs 1.35 crore at the US box office by the end of its second weekend and it added just two lakh more from four screens last weekend to take its total tally to Rs 1.37 crore.
In Canada, "Puli" has performed better than the US as the movie had raked in Rs 25 lakh to take its total tally to Rs 1.30 crore. Even here, the flick was played in four screens.
The Vijay starrer has made £3,800 in the UK box office from three screens to take its total tally to $201,473 (Rs 2.01 crore) from three screens by the end of its third weekend.
Malaysia has been a good market for Vijay's movies. But this time, it has not turned out to be the same as the collection of "Puli" is not up to the mark. By the end of its second weekend, the movie had raked in Rs 1.77 crore and in its next seven days, it could only earn Rs 7 lakh to take its total tally to Rs 1.85 crore.
The traders analyse that the unimpressive screenplay has played the spoilsport for "Puli". After getting negative talks, the film struggled to overcome the bad reviews. Thus, the movie has failed to post a good score at the box office.
Meanwhile, "Puli" is expected to make way for "10 Enradhukulla" and "Naanum Rowdy Thaan", which had a very good pre-talk.
"Puli" is an fantasy-adventure movie written and directed by Chimbu Deven. Sudeep, Sridevi Kapoor, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani play key roles in the multilingual movie.
