Ravi Teja-Hansika's "Power" has done fantastic business in its opening weekend.
The film has reportedly earned around ₹15 crore share at the worldwide box office. Its first weekend collections from the AP/Nizam area is estimated to be around ₹12 crore, according to Andhraboxoffice website.
"Power" has failed to beat the opening weekend collections of Jr NTR's "Rabhasa", which had minted ₹20 crore at the worldwide box office.
However, the film has given Teja his best ever opening by earning over ₹5 crore at AP/Nizam box office. It is doing better business than the actor's last release "Balupu".
"Balupu" minted a total share of ₹28.7 crore at the worldwide box office. It will be interesting to see whether "Power" will be able to surpass the film's total collections.
The mass entertainer, directed by K. S. Ravindra is continuing to do good business at the box office. The film's performance is solid in "B" and "C" centres. After a good weekend, the film is going steady on the fourth day. The Teja starrer has managed to hold well and is expected to mint decent collections during the weekdays.
"Power" has got a few more days to enjoy a good run at the box office after which the film will be facing a huge competition from Mahesh Babu's "Aagadu". The film, which will be released on 19 September, is set for big openings worldwide. It is expected to dominate the screens and break records at the box office.
With "Aagadu" having a huge release, it might be difficult for "Power" to sustain its business. Even if the Teja starrer manages to hold on to some screens in its second week (from 19 September till 25 September), the film's business might decline significantly from the third week as there are back-to-back big releases, including Gopichand's "Loukyam" and Ram Charan's "Govindudu Andarivadele."
It needs to be seen if "Power" will be able to attain hit status at the box office or fails to achieve the feat due to the release of new films.
