Popular Malayalam playback singer Jyotsna recently announced the birth of a baby boy. In a Facebook post to her fans, she said "Delighted and excited to share that I gave birth to my little baby boy on the 9th of July 2015. Looking forward with lots of prayers to this new phase in my life. Thank you all for your love and blessings (sic)."
Jyotsna was married to Srikanth, a software engineer in Bangalore, on 26 December, 2010.
She made her debut with the song "Valakilukkam Kettedee" from the movie "Pranayamani Thooval" in 2002 and since then she has lend her voice to several songs. However, Jyostna rose to fame with the song"Sughamanee Nilavu" from the film "Nammal" in the same year and later gave hits like "Karuppinazhagu" from "Swapnakoodu", "Melleyonnu" from "Manassinakkare" and "Meheruba" from "Perumazhakkalam" among others.
Apart from Malayalam songs, Jyotsna has sung a number of Tamil and Telugu songs as well, lending her voice for not less than 130 movies and 200 music albums. She is a regular at music shows abroad.
She is one of the most successful female playback singers in the Malayalam film industry and has won several awards till date. Some of them are "Shruthi bharatham" Award for best Female Playback Singer in 2003, "Outstanding Young Person" Award by Jaycees and "Jaycees Foundation" Award for Best Female Playback Singer.
