Bollywood film "PK" starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma in the leads, has done superb collection at the worldwide box office in the second week and it has become the fastest ₹500 crore grosser in the global market.
Trade experts had predicted that "PK" would do record breaking business in its second week as there were big releases in this week. As predicted, the movie has got fantastic response in both domestic as well as international markets.
"PK" had raked in ₹85 crore at the international markets in the first week. The film once again kept the cash registers ringing at the ticket counters in the foreign markets. In its second week, the film has collected approximately ₹37 crore at the overseas box office and its 14-day total stands at ₹122 crore.
Having collected ₹183.09 crore in the first week, "PK" witnessed around 40% drop on its second Friday, but the movie showed decent growth in its business on its second Saturday and Sunday. Its business once again went down on Monday due to working day for everyone. The film maintained rocks-steady on the following days.
"PK" has collected ₹53.49 crore nett in its second weekend and ₹42.29 crore on the weekdays. In its second week, the film has collected ₹95.78 crore at the Indian box office, taking its 14-day total to ₹278.87 crores. Its gross collection stands at ₹394 crore in the domestic market.
With its gross collection ₹516 crore, "PK" has become the second Bollywood movie to cross the mark of ₹500 crore in the global market. It has also beaten the record of "Dhoom 3" and become the fastest ₹500 crore grosser film. With no big releases in its third week, the film is likely to surpass the mark of ₹600 crore and set a new record.
