The first song of "Peruchazhi" starring Mohanlal, Aju Varghese and Baburaj is released. The song begins with "Adichu Polikkam" and is sung by Karthik and Arrora. The music is composed by Arrora.
The song introduces Jagannathan (Mohanlal) and his aides, Pottakkuzhy Jabbar (Baburaj) and (Vayalar Varkey), who are very ambitious though not so qualified politicians.
It shows the trio getting ready to travel to United States. Mukesh, who plays the character of politician Francis Kunjappan, is shown as Jagannathan's friend, but at the same time, he is not happy about Jagannathan's achievements or his new ventures.
The song assures that the film is definitely meant for all Mohanlal fans. The song shows Mohanlal in his mass look with character of someone who is in a mission to change things around him.
Jagannathan is forced to learn English as he lacks proficiency in the language. He spends his time reading Malayalam comics than learning English. The trio is also shown as those who are busy shopping for their journey and the song ends as they catch their flight to US.
"Peruchazhi" is all set for its release on 29 August as Onam release. The film will be released with subtitles outside Kerala by Fox Star Studios and will be released in Kerala by Friday Tickets. Th e-trailer of the film was already released and became a rage within mintes of its release.
There are high expectations for this Mohanlal film and it is shot majorly in the US and became the first Malayalam film to be shot in world-renowned Universal Studios.
"Peruchazhi" will also see Ragini Nandwani, playing the role of Jessy who is the love interest of Jagannathan. The other star cast include Vijay Babu, Sandra Thomas, Poonam Bajwa, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Delhi Ganesh, Ramesh Pisharody, Aneesh Menon, Ashvin Mathew and Sean James Sutton as John Kory.
"Peruchazhy" is written and directed by Arun Vaidyanathan. The dialogues for the film are done jointly by Arun Vaidhyanathan and Ajayan Venugopalan. The film is produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas under the banner of Friday Films.
