Another tragedy struck Nepal on Sunday night, when an overcrowded bus plunged off a mountain road, killing at least 17 people and injuring more than 50.
The bus was carrying almost double its capacity of 38 seats, with 67 people on board, and the vehicle veered off a narrow road and rolled 2,000 feet down a slope, police officials told The Associated Press. The accident spot is about 400 kilometers from the capital city of Kathmandu.
Last month, 47 people were killed in a bus accident, in a similar case of overcrowding. In October, 14 people, including foreign tourists, had lost their lives in a bus accident.
