Ganesh's latest movie Mungaru Male 2 has emerged victorious not just at the domestic box office but also overseas. It is the latest Kannada film to do notable business in the US and the UK.
As per the trade reports, Mungaru Male 2 has minted Rs 32.14 lakh at the US box office by the end of its third weekend. It is a good number for a Sandalwood film, say trade experts. In the UK, the film was released last weekend and it raked in Rs 38,000 in its first weekend.
Coming to the domestic box office, Mungaru Male 2 has minted over Rs 20 crore and it enjoyed a good viewership during weekends. The interesting part of its success story is that it has overcome the negative reviews and has done good business.
The Sandalwood flick was supposed to be released on September 9. But the bandh call given by the pro-Kannada outfits over the Cauvery water row delayed the release by a day.
Mungaru Male 2 has been made with a budget of Rs. 10 crore, and is expected to gross about Rs. 30 crore in its lifetime. However, the collection might take a toll as Puneeth Rajkumar's Dodmane Huduga is hitting the screens on Friday, September 30.
