Seems like a good time for Malayalam films as Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Ennu Ninte Moideen" and Mammootty's "Pathemari" are making roaring business at the Kerala box office.
Adding to the list, two multi-starrer Malayalam films "Amar Akbar Anthony" and "Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi" are set to lock horns on Friday, 16 October.
"Amar Akbar Anthony" - Live Audience Review
The Prithviraj-Indrajith Sukumaran-Jayasurya starrer is touted as a comedy film, which is the debut directorial venture of comedian Nadirshah. Namitha Pramod plays the female lead in "Amar Akbar Anthony". The film is expected to release in nearly 200 screens across India and will reportedly have its first show in the US.
"Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi" - Live Audience Review
Anil Radhakrishnan Menon's upcoming fantasy film does not have a protagonist as such and stars Kunchako Boban, Sunny Wayne, Nedumudi Venu, Chemban Vinod, Reenu Mathews, Jacob Gregory, Sudheer Karamana and Bharath in the lead roles. The film, which has been shot in Wayanad, Idukki, Pune and Chennai, is a fantasy story.
Expectations
Both "Amar Akbar Anthony" and "Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi" are expected to do well at the box office. The trio -- Prithviraj-Indrajith-Jayasurya -- has earlier created history with their chemistry in the 2006 blockbuster film "Classmates" which collected more than Rs 23 crore. This factor makes it one of the most awaited films of the year.
Meanwhile, the success of director Anil's critically acclaimed films -- "North 24 Kaatham"(2013) and "Sapthamashree Thaskaraha" (2014) -- raises the expectations of the upcoming fantasy thriller.
It has to be noted that the trailers of both the films got a tremendous response from the audience proving that movie-goers are awaiting the multi-starrer films on the big screen.
