Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which has been going steady at the Indian box office, witnessed a marginal growth in its collection on Tuesday, owing to Dussehra holiday.
The movie raked in Rs 4.21 crore on Tuesday (12th day), which is slightly higher than its Monday's collection (Rs 3.40 crore). The total domestic box office collection of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story now stands at Rs 116.91 crore net. "#MSDhoniTheUntoldStory [Week 2] Fri 4.07 cr, Sat 5.20 cr, Sun 5.90 cr, Mon 3.40 cr, Tue 4.21 cr [Dussehra]. Total: ₹ 116.91 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Although the pace at which the movie collected money on its first week has slowed down, it is expected to run smoothly for the next few weeks and break a couple of records. Also, with such humongous collection, one can't help but wonder if MS Dhoni: The Untold Story will manage to cross the lifetime collection record of Akshay Kumar's Rustom (Rs 127.49 crore) by next week.
The Neeraj Pandey directorial will also enjoy an uninterrupted run considering there are no big ticket releases in the next couple of weeks until Ae Dil Hai Mushkil opens in theatres on October 28.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is about the journey of Mahendra Singh Dhoni from working as a ticket collector to becoming the captain of the Indian cricket team. Produced by Arun Pandey and Fox Star studios, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story also stars Kiara Advani as Sakshi Dhoni, and Disha Patani and Anupam Kher in other key roles.
