Kollywood has performed well in the first half of 2015 between January and June. Now, the Tamil film industry has pinned high hopes on some of the big movies, which will be released between July and December.
Below is a list of most-awaited Tamil movies in the second half of the year:
Kamal Haasan's 'Papanasam'
In less than two months, Kamal Haasan is having yet another release in the form of "Papanasam", which was released on Friday, 3 July. This is the first big movie in the second half of the year. As it is the remake of Malayalam blockbuster "Drishyam", there are high expectations on the film.

SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali'
SS Rajamouli of "Naan Ee" ("Eega") fame is returning with multi-lingual "Baahubali" starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty. In terms of budget, this film will remain the biggest film or equivalent to Shankar's "I" in Southern film industry.

Dhanush's 'Maari'
Dhanush starrer "Maari" is yet another biggie releasing in July. The film is directed by Balaji Mohan of "Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi". It is a comedy and films in this genre of the "Kolaveri Di" hitmaker's have often impressed the audience. So, people are curiously looking forward to the release of the upcoming Tamil film.

Simbu's 'Vaalu'
Simbu will finally end his unpredicted two-year break with "Vaalu", which is likely to be released on 17 July. It has been in the making for over a year. Due to one or the other reason, the film got delayed. His fans are badly waiting for the release and the success of audio/trailer have raised expectations on the movie, which has Silambarasan's ex-lover Hansika Motwani.

Simbu's 'Idhu Namma Aalu'
In the mean time, Simbu's "Idhu Namma Aalu" is also getting ready for release and it is expected to be released in August.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 'Puli'
Ilayathalapathy Vijay's "Puli" is one of the challenging and toughest projects for the actor. It is because the film is a fantasy-adventure and the character is demanding. In terms of budget, his film has crossed a new feat by crossing the ₹100-crore mark, which rarely happens in Kollywood. The movie, which also has Sudeep, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and Sridevi in the cast, is directed by Chimbudevan

Vikram's '10 Enradhukulla'
Vikram impressed earlier this year with "I" and ended his bad patch with this Shankar's film. Now, he is returning with "10 Enradhukulla", a road thriller. It is directed by Vijay Milton of "Gooli Soda" fame and has Samantha in the female lead role.

Ajith's 'Thala 56'
Ajith Kumar starrer "Thala 56" is easily one of the biggest films of 2015 due to the presence of the star actor. It is a family-oriented story directed by Siruthai Siva. Shruti Haasan plays the female lead in the movie.

Suriya's '24'
Suriya's recent movie "Masss" was a decent entertainer. Later in the year, he will be returning with Vikram Kumar's "24". Samantha, Saranya Ponvannan, Ajay, Sathyan and others are also in the cast.
