For the 114 contestants on Miss World 2015, judgement day is near. After four weeks of gruelling fitness sessions, make up routines and dress rehearsals, the beauties from across the world stand to witness and cheer a new reigning queen. In the Beauty Crown Grand Theatre in Sanya, China, Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss (South Africa) will crown her successor.
To be sure, each contestant in the grand finale will be judged on her score in the preliminary challenges. The top five finalists will move on to the semi-finals and later, to the finals. The Miss World 2015 finale will also announce the winner of the People's Choice Award, who gets a free pass to the finals.
The opening sequence of the grand finale includes a live dance performance by 114 contestants. They will each perform the dance routine in their six-inch heels at the outdoor venue. "We'll keep licking our fingers and putting them in the air to see if the weather's going to be fine.It could be a disaster for the girls' hair, never mind mine! There will be a lot of Elnett. We've got a contingency plan but it's live and by the time it's been fed around the world, a billion people have watched it," host Tim Vincent said.
According to The Daily Mail, the hours leading up to the grand finale are packed with rehearsals. The website revealed that the beauty queens are being served bacon butties and waffles between rigorous gym sessions. Apart from this, much of the behind-the-scenes drama includes make up routines which take place like an "Army maneuver."
This year's finale will be hosted by Tim Vincent, "Access Hollywood" presenter and Megan Young, Filipino Actress and former Miss World Winner.
