Akkineni multi starrer "Manam", one of the most-awaited films of the year, is gearing up for a grand release on 23 May.
"Manam" has three generation actors of the Akkineni family- Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya in pivotal roles.
The family entertainer is likely to release in a good number of screens worldwide. In the United States, "Manam" will become the first Akkineni starrer to have a big release. The film will be shown in more than 100 screens in the US alone. To check the theatre list, click HERE.
Prior to the film's actual release, "Manam" will have premiere shows on 22 May. The makers of the film have arranged for a mega red carpet premiere on 22 May, which will be attended by several celebrities.
"The producers of the film succumbed to the huge demand from the legendary Actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao admirers and what began as a single screen premiere had turned into a 5 multiplex screen red carpet show. It is expected that Akkineni Nagarjuna will play host to thousands of celebrity invitees on the big day," the makers said in a press statement.
"MANAM rewinds the magic of ANR who carved a special place in the hearts of millions of cinema loving people for decades. It is his intensity and relentless love for camera that made him what he is for his fans, family and many of his admirers throughout his cinematic journey."
The film is written by Harsha and directed by Vikram Kumar. Its music is composed by Anoop Reuben and cinematography is handled by PS Vinod.
Besides ANR, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya, "Manam" has Shriya Saran, Samantha, Posani Krishna Murali, Tanikella Bharani and Ali in supporting roles.
Box Office Clash: "Manam" vs "Vikramasimha"
"Manam" will not have a solo release and will be clashing with Rajinikanth's "Vikramasimha."
The historic drama is set for a massive release worldwide. However, the film will reportedly have limited release in Andhra Pradesh owing to the release of "Manam." It will be interesting to see which film will perform well at the box office.
Rajinikanth has a huge fan following and the actor's past releases like "Robot" and "Shivaji" have done good business worldwide. Expectations are high for "Vikramasimha" as fans will get to see thalaivar on the silver screen after a span of nearly four years. On the flip side, the epic drama has some negative buzz as it is not a regular Rajini starrer, but a 3D animation film that uses motion capturing techniques.
On the other hand, "Manam" is carrying a lot of positive buzz prior to its release. There is a lot of hype about the film as it is ANR's last project. The film's teaser and trailer have already generated great expectations among fans, and the Akkineni multi starrer is expected to likely to take fantastic openings on the first day despite clasing with "Vikramasimha."
