It's been a busy last few days in the smartphone industry, with new flagship launches being lined up by companies to impress consumers. After Samsung, Apple came in the limelight for the launch of its flamboyant iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but that's not the end of it. The battle will continue as China's LeEco will make its presence felt in the premium smartphone category by launching the Le Pro 3 on 21 September.
The internet conglomerate has been teasing the launch of its new smartphone and also trolling Apple on several occasions. LeEco's official Weibo account shared some teasers for the Le Pro 3, showcasing skill sets to master Apple's latest iPhone 7 Plus in areas such as battery, performance and innovation.
These teasers are vague and do not talk about the handset's specifications or design. But a recent leak on Weibo shows the Le Pro 3's rear design, which is indeed the real deal as LeEco reblogged the listing, TechUpdate3 reported. The two photos showing the Le Pro 3 were shared by a Chinese actor, and hint at several details of the new smartphone.
LeEco Le Pro 3 isn't going to be a massive departure from the company's signature design, as it features a metallic unibody design, mirror-surfaced fingerprint scanner at the back, large camera module next to an LED flash and the horizontal antenna lines. LeEco's new logo is found at the bottom of the rear panel and the power and volume buttons are placed at the right side of the device.
Specifications about LeEco Le Pro 3 have been leaked time and again, giving us an early glimpse of what to expect from the firm's flagship next week. Rumour has it that the Le Pro 3 will come in two variants, both powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset.
A smaller 5.5-inch model will come with 1080p display resolution, a 16MP primary camera, an 8MP selfie snapper, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 4,070mAh battery. The leaked photos of the Le Pro 3 show the 5.5-inch variant, GSM Arena reported.
The higher-end Le Pro 3 variant can be differentiated by its dual camera setup featuring 13MP sensors, a 16MP selfie camera, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, a larger 5.7-inch QHD display and a 5,000mAh battery.
