"Kumari 21F" starring Raj Tarun and Hebah Patel in the lead roles has got brilliant opening and collected about Rs 12 crore at the worldwide box office in the first weekend (3 days).
"Kumari 21F" released in about 300 cinema halls across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) on 20 November. Having good advance booking, the movie registered an average of 85% occupancy on its opening day. The film grossed about Rs 2.57 crore at the AP/T box office on the first day and its distributor's share stood at Rs 1.71 crore.
The Raj Tarun and Hebah Patel starrer received positive feedback from both critics and the audience, and the word-of-mouth took its business upwards on Saturday and Sunday.
"Kumari 21F" is estimated to have grossed Rs 8.50 crore at the AP/T box office in its first weekend and its distributors' share stands at about Rs 5.50 crore.
"Kumari 21F" was released in about 90 screens in North America, where it got fantastic response from the audiences. On Sunday, Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Telugu film #Kumari21F - USA: Thu previews $ 27,992, Fri $ 54,443, Sat $ 67,317. Total: $ 149,752 [₹ 99 lacs]. @RentrakIndia".
Sukumar's maiden production has collected about Rs 1.40 crore at the US box office in the first weekend. "Kumari 21F" has reportedly beaten the opening weekend record of "Akhil: The Power of Jua", which has collected about Rs 1.10 crore from 150 screens in the country.
"Kumari 21F" was released in 110 screens in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other parts of the globe. The Palnati Surya Pratap-directed romance drama is estimated to have grossed over Rs 12 crore at the worldwide box office in the first weekend.
Made on a small budget of 15 crore, "Kumari 21F" is said to have earned around Rs 12 crore from the sale of its theatrical rights. The movie has fetched about Rs 7.50 crore to its distributors.
