'Kshanam' US box office collection: Adavi Sesh's film beats 10-day collection of 'Krishnasthami'

Adivi Sesh's latest Telugu movie "Kshanam" has got decent openings and raked in good collection at the US box office in the first weekend. It has topped the US business chart for Telugu films.

Adivi Sesh has played a crucial role in SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali: The Beginning," which has collected $10.94 million at the US box office. The actor's performance in the film had impressed the viewers in North America and fetched him a fare amount of fans in the country. 

"Kshanam" did decent business in premiere shows in the country on Thursday night. The movie was released in over 27 cinema halls in the country Feb. 26 and it debuted with superb response everywhere. The film received positive response from the audience and the word of mouth took its business upwards Saturday and Sunday.

"Kshanam" collected $65,679 (Rs 4.83 lakh) from 27 screens at the US box office in the first weekend and its per-screen average stands at $2432, which is much bigger than that of some big-ticket Telugu movies released earlier. The film has become another big Tollywood money spinner of the year.

On Monday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh ‏took to his Twitter handle to post the day-wise collection of "Kshanam". The India's leading film trade expert posted, "Telugu film #Kshanam - USA: Thu $ 2,676, Fri $ 14,676, Sat $ 28,501, Sun $ 19,826. Total: $ 65,679 [₹ 44.83 lacs]. @Rentrak (sic)."

"Kshanam" has topped the US business chart for South Indian movies, pushing down "Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha" (KGVP), which held the top place from the last two weeks. The movie has done better business than Sunil's "Krishnasthami," which has collected $23,382 (Rs 16.04 lakh) from 75 screens at the US box office in its opening weekend.
