Mohanlal's "Oppam" and Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Oozham" have continued their good run at the Kerala box office. Among the Onam releases, the Priyadarshan-directorial has become the winner of the season with tremendous collections since Sept. 8.
According to trade analysts, Mohanlal's "Oppam" has become the second biggest grosser in Malayalam cinema after Mammootty's action thriller "Kasaba" by earning a total of Rs. 7.24 crore within four days of its theatrical run in the state. The Mammootty-starrer had grossed Rs. 7.35 crore after its first weekend at the Kerala box office.
The movie, in which Mohanlal plays the role of a blind person, has broken the highest weekend collection of his movie "Loham," which had made a collection of Rs. 5.84 crore in four days. The day wise collection of the movie is said to be Rs. 1.60 crore on the opening day, followed by Rs. 1.78 crore and Rs. 1.90 crore on the next two days. Read Oppam Review
Meanwhile, revenge thriller "Oozham" has earned a total of Rs. 4.45 crore within four days. The gross collection of the Jeethu Joseph-directorial on Sunday alone is said to be approximately Rs. 1.32 crore and the first day collection is believed to be Rs. 1.25 crore, with a distributors' share of over Rs. 60 lakh.
