Reality TV shows have now become a common platform for stars to promote their upcoming releases. Actress Rani Mukerji was doing just that when she decided to show off some 'mardaani' on the sets of "Kaun Banega Crorepati" Season 8.
On Friday, Big B posted some pictures of him, Mukerji and the courageous Fatma Khatun on his Facebook page. Khatun, who fought human girl trafficking in the bravest way possible, was on the show to narrate her inspiring story.
The senior actor wrote, "The KBC 'hausalebaaz' episode and the horrific stories of human girl trafficking ! And the brave Fatma Khatun who fought it .. Rani Mukherji in 'Mardani' who plays a character in the film, which touches upon this very abhorrent crime!!"
"The horrific story of human trafficking .. the revelations by Fatma Khatu whom you see with Rani Mukherji .. where it existed in her own house, by her own husband .. and her fight against it .. !! Incredible lady !! See this episode it shall make your hair stand on end .. !!," the 71-year-old posted on his blog.
Going by the choice of his words, the actor was noticeably moved by Khatun's story. He also added that nothing should be taken for granted and that those who hurt others must be paid back in the same coin.
Slated for release on 22 August, "Mardaani" will see the talented actress in a tough avatar. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the film also has Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta in a key role. Reports suggest that Mukerji met the crime branch officer in Mumbai to prepare for her character.
