Vijay-Samantha starrer "Kaththi" has grossed over ₹70 crore at the worldwide box office.
"Kaththi" took humongous openings on the first day of its release and continued its good run owing to long holidays. The film's five day collections amount to approximately ₹47.7 crore nett, according to Andhraboxoffice.
The website has stated that "Kaththi" minted ₹36 crore nett in Tamil Nadu (no tax as it got "U" rating), while its collections from Kerala and Karnataka amount to ₹5.5 crore and ₹5 crore, respectively. With the inclusion of film's collections from Rest of India, "Kaththi" has approximately minted ₹47.7 crore nett in just five days. The film's worldwide collections stand at ₹71.05 crore (approximately).
"Kaththi" is fast approaching the ₹100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The Vijay starrer has surpassed the full run collections of the actor's last release "Jilla" and Ajith's "Veeram" in just five days.
"Kaththi" is doing exceptional business overseas in key markets like US. In the US, the film has become the first non-Rajinikanth, non-Kamal Haasan film to cross $5,00,000 mark.
It has minted $570,207 in six days including Tuesday premiere shows and has currently been placed at sixth spot in the list of highest grossing Tamil films at the US box office. The first five spots are dominated by Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan films. It will be interesting to see if "Kaththi" will be able break into the top five list of highest grossers.

Release of "Kaththi" Telugu dubbed version on Hold
"Kaththi" Telugu version was slated to release on 31 October, but the film's release has been put on hold. According to latest reports, Tagore Madhu, who has bagged the Telugu dubbing rights of "Kaththi," is interested in remaking the film with Pawan Kalyan in the lead role.
Power Star will be watching a special screening of "Kaththi" on Tuesday, according to Andhraboxoffice. If he likes the film, it might get remade in Telugu or else the Telugu dubbed version might hit the screens on 7 November.
