Television actor Nakuul Mehta, who rose to fame with the role of Aditya Harish Kumar in hit show "Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara," has produced a new web-series.
Titled "I Don't Watch TV," the web-series will showcase the day-to-day struggle of the Tv actors in a satirical manner. It will give the viewers a different perspective on what actually goes on behind the cameras.
Besides Mehta, the web-series also features popular Tv actors like Karan Patel, Rithvik Dhanjani, Kritika Kamra, Drashti Dhami and Karan Wahi. Mehra's co-star Disha Parmar from "Pyaar ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara," is also part of the series. It also has film critic Rajeev Masand in a cameo role.
"This series is truth meets part fiction meets part bizarre, which in essence is Indian television, today. It has been our labour of love and we have been keen to tell this story for a long time as it is personal and quite intense in a lot of ways, though it's presented in a humorous and edgy way," Mehta had earlier told Indian Television.
The first season of "I Don't Watch TV" comprising five episodes has already been shot and will go on air in February, while the second season is under production.
Recently, the makers released the trailer of the comedy series, wherein Dhanjani is seen getting into a fight with his director, until he is informed that Karan Kundra is willing to replace him on the show. Also, the ideal on-screen Bahu Kamra, is seen smoking a cigarette. The trailer also showcases how the on-screen couples, who win the best jodi awards, hate each other in real life.
