Contrary to recent reports, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu is not planning to quit "The Kapil Sharma Show," on which he appears as a special guest. Preeti Simoes, the creative producer of the show, has refuted the rumours of Sidhu's exit from the comedy series.
"It's a false news," Preeti told the Times of India. She also took to her Twitter handle to slam the report. "Funny imagination by summone from @dna ..1st on @arrahman sir which got refuted by de legend himself n now dis! [sic]," she posted.
Sidhu made headlines recently when he resigned as a Rajya Sabha member and since then rumours had been doing the rounds that the former cricketer, who is a prominent member of the comedy show, is being persuaded to exit the show so that his image as a politician gets strengthened.
"There's a lot of pressure on Sidhu Paaji to quit our show. If it's true that has quit the BJP for the AAP. We've heard that Paaji has been instructed to stop participating in the comedy show, as he needs to revamp his image," DNA had quoted a source as saying.
Meanwhile, viewers of "The Kapil Sharma Show" will soon witness Upasana Singh once again as a member of Kapil's team. Upasana will play the role of Pakistani comedian and actor Naseem Vicky's wife. Vicky will also be joining the cast of "The Kapil Sharma Show."
Upasana, who gained popularity as Bua on "Comedy Nights With Kapil," had decided to stay back with Colors when the entire team of the show moved on to Sony Entertainment Television with the new series, "The Kapil Sharma Show."
