Malayalam actor Jayasurya and director Ranjith Sankar, with their movies "Punyalan Agarbattis" and "Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam," have proved themselves as a successful duo. Now, the team is all set to join hands for their upcoming Malayalam movie titled "Pretham."
The upcoming movie, touted to be a horror comedy film, is being produced under the banner of Dreams N Beyond. It is Ranjith's second attempt at the horror genre after scripting the 2000 horror television series "Nizhalukal," which was the first horror serial in Malayalam.
"I started my stint with media writing screenplay for "Nizhalukal" probably the first horror serial here way back in 2000. Have thought of umpteen subjects to explore the genre in movies all these years before arriving on this. Pretham is is a horror comedy," wrote Ranjith on his Facebook page. The other details on the rest of the cast and crew of "Pretham" has not been revealed yet. The movie will start rolling in May and is expected to hit screens on Aug. 12.

Ranjith, who began his career as a scriptwriter for the Tv series "Nizhalukal" and "American Dreams," made his debut as a director in 2009 with Dileep and Sreenivasan starrer "Passenger" and is also known for his movies "Varsham," "Molly Aunty Rocks" and "Arjunan Sakshi."
Jayasurya, who received tremendous response for portraying the role of a stammerer in "Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam," has Antony Sony's next with Manju Warrier and the sequel of "Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu" in his kitty.
