The first half of 2016 has been fabulous so far for Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly, who is basking in the success of his blockbuster movies "Action Hero Biju" and "Jacobinte Swargarajyam" (JSR).
After a few back-to-back blockbusters, the Vineeth Sreenivasan-directed flick has now entered the Rs. 20-crore club. The family entertainer is said to have earned Rs 20.31 crore gross, with a net amount of Rs 16.21 crore, within 43 days of its release at the Kerala box office, according to Kerala Box Office.
The movie, which also has Renji Panicker, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, Ashwin Kumar, Sreenath Bhasi, Aima Sebastian, Stacen, Dinesh Prabhakar, Sai Kumar and Vineeth Sreenivasan in significant roles, has been performing well with tremendous business at the overseas box offices as well.
"JSR" has collected a £896 gross from 16 screens during its third weekend at the box offices in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The family entertainer, produced by Noble Babu Thomas under the banner of Big Bang Entertainments, has now accumulated a total gross collection of £84,161 [Rs. 82.24 lakh] within three weeks of its run in the overseas market, according to Bollywood Hungama.
The movie, which narrates the real-life story of an NRI family in Dubai, had earned a gross amount of $1,13,641 [Rs 75.96 lakh] within four weeks of its release at the U.S. box office. The Nivin-starrer marks the third association of the actor with director Vineeth after the superhit films "Malarvadi Arts Club" and "Thattathin Marayathu." The duo has said the lead role of Jerry, which was initially planned for Vineeth himself, was handed over to Nivin following the continuous requests of the "Action Hero Biju" actor.
