It is a dream of every Harry Potter fan to experience the insanely magical world of the wizards. All fans must have wished at some point of time to have been a part of Hogwarts to learn the art of wizardry.
Well! That dream will soon become a reality. When the Czocha College of Wizardry opens next April, a live-action role playing game based on the "Harry Potter" movie franchise will take place in Poland's Czocha Castle. There is also a website dedicated to the prospective attendees, MTV reports. Czocha is a not-so-famous higher institute of learning that graduates from Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang can attend.
It will be a three-day event and 180 players will participate in the event. They will play the roles of staff, students or ghost like characters that roam the Hogwarts halls or washrooms. The registration for the two game sessions in April is to open 8 December. The participants will be given a wizard robe, a study book and a tie of the colour that their respective Houses represent. The price for admission to the college is around $350 or 280 euros, Inquisitr reports. One might think the price is very steep, but considering the passion of a diehard Harry Potter fan, this opportunity is priceless.
The students can choose one of the five probable paths - Aurors, Curse Breakers, Healers, Magizoologists and mysteriously, the Unspeakables. As it is clear, selecting a particular subject would determine what class the student will take.
Referring to the Harry Potter feel in the Hogwarts-like college, its website states: "We want the larp to feel like you're stepping into the world of Harry Potter. Emotional drama, school rivalry, young adults fighting the battles of adults, and occasional comedy are all part of the experience. We can not recreate the special effects of the movies, but we can recreate quite a lot of the visual feel - and not least the drama."
Larping.org describes the event as "a live action role play game for 180 students, staff, ghosts and creatures in the beautiful castle museum in Czocha, Poland – run by a superb Danish/Polish team over 3 days, the images capture a modest snapshot of the intense and prolific dramas, disasters and everyday life." The site also provides some pictures of the last Harry Potter LARP event.
