Model Cindy Crawford is all set to produce a new television show based on modelling agencies, and speculations are rife that Amal Clooney, the spouse of her long-time friend George Clooney, will appear in a cameo role.
Crawford's show is titled "Icon" and the story is inspired by the 1980s war between top modelling agencies such as Ford Modeling Agency and Elite Model Management, reported Variety.
Because the show is completely fictionalised, no actual names or figures of top models of the time will be used, the report noted, adding that Crawford will not star in the show.
As for Amal putting in an appearance, the human rights lawyer hasn't spoken about it yet. But because she has emerged as a style icon since her September wedding to George, and considering George and Crawford's close friendship, fans have set their hopes high.
"Icon" will be aired on NBC, but an air date is yet to be announced. This news comes shortly on the heels of another report that claimed that Amal has been taking acting classes so as to prepare herself for a cameo in a picture featuring her husband.
"George asked her ages ago if she ever wanted to give her family a thrill and do a cameo," a source exclusively told OKMagazine.com in June.
Amal is said to be a perfectionist and she wants to be prepared when the opportunity comes. She is not the type of person to just "walk into a job without doing her research," the insider claimed. "She's been taking weekly acting classes with a private coach and loving every minute of it."
However, she is not ready to take up acting full time. "She'd never change careers, but she's certainly intrigued by George's industry and thinks it could be something fun to do," the source said.
