"Ganga" has received fantastic collections at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) box offices in the first week and topped the business chart, while Kamal Haasan's "Uttama Villain" landed in the second place.
"Ganga" is the Telugu version of the Tamil film, "Kanchana 2", and the original version has become a big hit at the box office. Trade experts in Filmnagar had earlier predicted that the film would get superb opening and create the same magic at the Tollywood box office as well. As predicted, the movie opened to an earth-shattering response.
Released in over 550 screens across both the states on 1 May, "Ganga" collected approximately ₹2 crore net at the AP/T box office on the first day. The Raghava Lawrence became one of the biggest Telugu openers in 2015.
Despite clashing with another dubbed film, "Uttama Villain, "Ganga" showed decent growth in its business on Saturday and Sunday. The Telugu version of "Kanchana 2" collected approximately ₹8.10 crore nett at the AP/T box office in its opening weekend and became the third dubbed film to achieve such a big number.
On Monday, "Ganga" witnessed decline in its collection and maintained steady business on the following weekdays. The movie has raked in ₹4.10 crore net at the AP/T box office on the weekdays, taking its first week (seven day) total to ₹12.20 crore net. Its gross total stands at ₹19.3 crores.
