"Game of Thrones" is coming to India and that too within a few short minutes of its U.S. premiere.
The fantasy drama based on George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" will air its sixth season in the U.S. at 9 p.m. EDT, and fans in India can watch the episode titled "The Red Woman" live through Hotstar a few minutes later on Monday, April 25, a source told International Business Times India.
Earlier, fans in India had to wait a few days before new episodes were made available to them legally as Star India has been telecasting popular English shows on its English television channels such as Star World within a day of its U.S. telecast. Now, the waiting period has considerably been shortened.
One of the advantages of this live streaming facility is that the episode will not be interspaced with unwanted advertisements, ensuring a pleasurable viewing experience.
"Game of Thrones" has been made available on Hotstar as part of Star India and HBO's tie-up, which allowed the latter's original programming content to be made available on Star India's video streaming service Hotstar.
The upcoming instalment of "Game of Thrones" is one of the most awaited seasons of the fantasy drama as it will solve a number of cliffhangers from the previous seasons. For instance, fans will finally come to learn whether Jon Snow, who was stabbed to death by his Night's Watch comrades in the Season 5 finale, will survive.
