Ford is all set to reveal its new compact utility vehicle (CUV) in India on Wednesday, January 31. The global unveiling of Ford's new compact utility vehicle will begin from 12.30 pm.
While Ford has not revealed any details of its new compact utility vehicle, in all likelihood that is likely to be a cross between an SUV and a hatchback. Ford has been testing a new crossover what is rumoured as Figo Cross of Freestyle in India for some time now. Rumours are rife that this could be the CUV from the company, which is expected to be launched by April.
From the spy images of the new crossover that we have come across so far, Freestyle or Figo Cross will flaunt new hexagonal front grille flanked by sweptback headlamps. The Figo Cross is also likely to get a restyled front bumper with black racing stripes running across, black body claddings, black roof rails and ORVMs. The rear end of the model could also get similar sporty additions and the CUV is expected to come shod with 185/60 R15 tyres.
Inside the cabin, the new Figo Cross is expected to get an updated dashboard with features like a floating touchscreen infotainment system in line with the one in the new EcoSport. It will support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Ford's SYNC3 connectivity system. The new Figo Cross is also expected to get raised ground clearance of 185 mm, up by 15 mm from the Figo hatchback.
Under the hood, Figo Cross is expected to draw power from an all-new 1.2-litre Dragon-series petrol engine. The all-aluminium, three-cylinder, twin-cam unit will be a scaled-down version if the 1.5-litre Dragon that debuted with the new Ford EcoSport. The new engine is likely to churn out 95 hp of power and 115 Nm of torque. The tried-and-tested 1.5-litre diesel engine with 100bhp is also likely to be on offer.
