"Fast & Furious 8" fans can finally celebrate, as the latest reports suggest that production on "Fast & Furious 7" sequel has already started. Ever since Vin Diesel confirmed the eighth instalment of the franchise, there have been various speculations revolving around the cast, plot and production of the film.
But now, the actor, who plays Dom Toretto, has let some teasers out about the upcoming sequel. According to the latest buzz, Vin Diesel has posted a photo of himself along with Kurt Russell in, what appears like, the set of the film and captioned it: Toretto Tuesday.
Though producer Neal Moritz has reportedly said that the screenplay for the film is still being developed, Diesel's photo clearly hints that work has indeed begun on "Fast & Furious 8" and that Kurt has already made a comeback as Mr Nobody.
Russell's character in "Furious 7" was well-received by fans. And the actor had previously hinted in his interview with Jimmy Kimmel that he may make a comeback in the franchise for an expanded role in more than one film.
He said that the fate of Mr Nobody was kept open-ended in "Furious 7" because Diesel had big plans for the guy in the upcoming movies. "I got an idea, a sense of what Vin maybe wants to do in the future that this character could be a good part of. We created somebody that I think is, you know, he's a mystery man, he's 'Mr. Nobody' we never know his name and you never know quite what world he's in and I think that's what's fun and exciting about it," he had said in the interview.
In fact, if you remember, even producer Neal had said that "Fast 8" will be the beginning of a new trilogy. So, if Mr Nobody's character is planned for more than one film and if "Fast 8" is making way for a new trilogy, then Vin Diesel's photo, confirming Kurt Russell's return in the franchise, hints that there could be more than one film in the future.
Meanwhile, there are also reports that Cara Delevingne could join as a new member of the Toretto family, now that Mia is gone (Mia leaves with Brian O'Connor at the end of "Fast & Furious 7").
There are rumours that Cara wants to play villain and hence, may end up teaming up with Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the villain in "Furious 7". But some reports also claim that Shaw could change his mind and end up joining Dom Toretto instead.
Well, these are just plot rumours as the storyline for the upcoming sequel is still very unclear. So, we will have to wait until the next official update to know where the story is headed.
"Fast & Furious 8" is scheduled to be released on 14 April, 2017.
