National Award-winning editor TE Kishore has passed away on Friday, 6 March. After battling out for his life for the past few days, he breathed his last at a private hospital.
Kishore was just 32 and died at the Vijaya Hospital. He is survived by his parents. "Kishore was hospitalised few days ago after he suffered a brain stroke while working in a studio. He slipped into coma and failed to respond to the doctor's treatment," a family source told IANS.
He was taken into hospital on 5 March after he collapsed during a discussion with director Vetrimaran in a studio. Doctors discovered that Kishore had a clot in his brain and conducted a surgery. Unfortunately, it did not have much impact as he slipped into coma. On Friday, he was declared brain dead by doctors.
Kishore worked in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. His editing career kick-started as an assistant to editors like B Lenin and VT Vijayan. He turned full-time editor with "Eeram", which got him Vijay Award nomination for Best Editor, way back in 2009.
In the last five years, he worked in about 30 films in multiple languages. Kishore's talent was rewarded when he received National Award for his "Aadukalam" directed by Vetrimaran.
Other popular movies include "Prithvi" (Kannada), "Payanam", "Mappillai", "Kanchana", "Paradesi" and "Oggarane".
Meanwhile, his friends in the industry are deeply saddened by his untimely death. They have expressed their condolences on Twitter.
