Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya have, for a long time, denied dating rumours surrounding them, but not anymore.
Talking to The Times of India, the "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" actors confirmed their engagement (on 15 January), saying they never admitted to their relationship earlier as they didn't want it to be jinxed.
The ceremony, pictures from which are already going viral on social media, was a hush-hush affair, with only close friends and family members in attendance. "It was just for our loved ones to know that we are booked for each other. I didn't want Divyanka's profile to go up on a matrimonial site," Dahiya told the leading daily.
From what the couple revealed about their courtship, the alliance appears to be the arranged-cum-love kind. The two met in August last year and have interacted regularly ever since, with their parents' approval, of course. But they weren't interested in a fling, and were serious about taking things forward.
"After this, it was awkward for us to shoot together. But I don't think our co-actors ever got a hint. There was no courtship as we were looking at the relationship culminating in marriage. At that time, we just wanted it to be a private affair and didn't want to jinx it. Now, we are madly in love with each other," Tripathi added.
The actress may have kept her love life under wraps for the past few months, but now she cannot stop gushing about the beau. Calling him "genuine" and "simple", Tripathi said everything about him is "good" and that women should be jealous of her. She also said him caring for her deeply is a comforting feeling.
"I'm a normal girl aspiring to lead a normal life with my partner. He is genuine and simple. He is a guide who calms me when I'm stressed. He cares for me. It's a comforting feeling. Everything is good about Vivek and women should envy me. Nazar na lage," she elaborated.
