Cricket Schedule 2016: Fixtures and dates of all major series and matches of the New Year

The year 2015 has come to an end and cricket fans around the world will be looking forward to more cricketing action in the new year. 

We all witnessed Australia become the world champions of 50-over cricket for the fifth time in 2015. We also got to see India reaching the no. 2 position in the ICC Test rankings in 2015. Now it is time for us to take a look at the cricket schedule of all the major cricketing nations for 2016.

Australia will kick-start their new year with a couple of limited-overs series against India, starting from 12 January. This series will have five ODIs and three T20 international matches. 

England are currently touring South Africa for a full length series which consists of four Tests, five ODIs and two T20 matches. 

New Zealand are currently playing against Sri Lanka and they are scheduled to host Pakistan and Australia ahead of the ICC World T20 2016, which will be held in India. The Kiwis will also embark on an India tour towards the latter half of 2016. 

South Africa, apart from the England series, will also host Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand in 2016. The Proteas will also be involved in a tri-series with Australia and West Indies in the middle of the year. 

Pakistan have a number of tours in their schedule. They will be touring New Zealand in two parts. They will then tour England, West Indies and Australia in the New Year, while there is also a possibility of a series against India.

Sri Lanka are currently touring New Zealand and then they will tour India before the ICC World T20 2016. Post the T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka are scheduled to tour England, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
