Chinese Valentine's Day, which is also known as Qiqiao Festival, is celebrated every year on the seventh day of the Chinese calendar's seventh month and this year, it fell on Thursday, 20 August.
The festival originated from the Chinese mythology that highlights the romance between weaver maid Zhinu and cowherd Niulang. It is believed that on this day of the year, the couple meets each other.
Chinese Valentine's Day is also known as the Double Seventh Festival, the Night of Sevens and the Magpie Festival. During this day, youngsters exchange gifts, chocolates and flowers with their romantic partners.
On this occasion, former Chinese members of popular South Korean boy band EXO, Kris aka Wu Yifan and Luhan, also wished their fans on social media.
Kris informed his fans that he is celebrating the day with a Chinese cabbage through micro-bogging site Weibo. "Celebrating Qixi (chinese Valentine's Day) with Chinese cabbage," he wrote.
In the meantime, Luhan thanked all his followers for their wishes on Instagram. "Happy Chinese Valentine's day ~ thanks, everyone," he said.
The celebs are yet to terminate their contract with South Korean entertainment agency SM Entertainment and are currently battling a legal dispute.
