Young actor Dulquer Salmaan is still basking in the success of his Christmas release "Charlie," which won him the Kerala State Film Award in the Best Actor category. The Martin Prakkat directorial opened to positive response and has been making tremendous collection at the worldwide box office.
The movie is expected to have collected a gross amount of Rs 22 crore from the worldwide box office with Rs 11 crore from UAE-GCC and Rs 2 crore from the U.K. and the U.S. making "Charlie" the highest blockbuster of the actor's career spanning 10 years. The Dulquer and Parvathy-starrer "Charlie" has bagged as many as eight Kerala State Film Awards 2015 in the categories of Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematographer, Best Scriptwriter, Best Art Director, Best Sound Mixing and Best Processing Lab/Colourist.
The blockbuster movie, co-produced by actor Joju George, Shebin Becker and Martin, revolves around the story of a mysterious young man named Charlie (played by Dulquer) who leads a carefree life and catches the fancy of a crazy girl Tessa (played by Parvathy) for being the favourite of everyone he comes across in life.
Meanwhile, Dulquer is waiting for the release of two movies, Sameer Thahir's "Kali" opposite Sai Pallavi and Rajeev Ravi's "Kammatipaadam." The first look posters of both the movies were recently released and they garnered a lot of attention raising the viewers' curiosity. The actor also has Amal Neerad, Prathap Pothen, Aashiq Abu, Sathyan Anthikad and Anoop Sathyan's upcoming projects in his kitty.
