Shahid Kapoor's "Udta Punjab," Nawazuddin Siddiqui's "Raman Raghav 2.0" and Diljit Dosanjh's "Sardaarji 2" had a decent to good run in their respective weeks at the box office in India and in the international market.
Udta Punjab
Shahid-Alia Bhatt starrer "Udta Punjab" has minted Rs. 59.61 crore in its 17 days run. The film, directed by Abhishek Chaubey, had a good first-week run, but the collection started to decline after the end of the first week. The film is the sixth highest grosser of this year and will remain in that spot until the release of Salman Khan's "Sultan."
"#UdtaPunjab [Week 3] Fri 50 lacs, Sat 70 lacs, Sun 85 lacs. Total: ₹ 59.61 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The film will enjoy its last few days run at the box office, as its theatrical run is likely to end after the release of Salman's film.
Raman Raghav 2.0
Nawazuddin and Vicky Kaushal-starrer crime thriller "Raman Raghav 2.0" earned Rs. 6.74 crore in its 10-day run. The box office collection of the crime thriller, directed by Anurag Kashyap, dropped drastically when the film entered its second-week. On second Friday, the film minted Rs. 19 lakh, Rs. 25 lakh on Saturday and Rs. 28 lakh on Sunday.
"Raman Raghav 2.0 [Week 2] Fri 19 lacs, Sat 25 lacs, Sun 28 lacs. Total: ₹ 6.74 cr. India biz. #RamanRaghav2," trade analyst Adarsh tweeted.
The dismal performance of "Raman Raghav 2.0" in the second week hints that the film will end its box office run after "Sultan" releases this Wednesday.
Sardaarji 2
While Bollywood films struggled at the box office, Punjabi film "Sardaarji 2" had a good run in India and in the international market. Diljit-starrer "Sardaarji 2" has already been declared a blockbuster Punjabi film of 2016 and now the film is doing remarkably well at the overseas box office.
"Sardaarji 2" minted approximately Rs. 13 crore in its first week run at the domestic box office and from the overseas box office, the film minted Rs. 6.05 crore. The worldwide box office collection of "Sardaarji 2" stands at Rs. 19 crore.
